What time is check-in & check-out?

Check-in – from 3pm
Check-out – by 11am
however we can be flexible upon request

What are the bed & bedding arrangements?

The cabin sleeps strictly two people in a king-size bed.

Full linen, towels and bedding are supplied. Plus plenty of extra blankets for the colder months.

What are the cooking & kitchen facilities?

A quality full kitchen for preparing meals, including electric stovetop and oven, dishwasher and full size fridge/freezer.

There is an indoor dining table with four chairs. All the pots, pans and utensils you’ll need for cooking and eating are provided. Some pantry basics are supplied – olive oil, salt, pepper, spices & herbs, a selection of tea, coffee, milk etc. And we always leave a supply of special Matakana treats for guests to enjoy!

 

Outdoors there are also plenty of cooking options including; a brazier which also doubles as an outdoor grill for sausages or other treats. If you are in a hurry then just fire up the super easy gas Weber BBQ on the deck. 

What are the bathroom facilities?

Indoor bathroom with a full walk-in shower and underfloor heating for the chillier days. Complementary robes are supplied. Hot water is provided by gas.

Is there mobile phone reception?

Yes

What is it like staying in winter?

We have a Roaring Meg mini log burner plus the central heating system throughout which provides air-conditioning for the summer months.  

Is the Cabin child friendly?

Sorry no we are not child friendly at this stage. Book the grandparents in and enjoy quality time with your loved one!

Is the Cabin dog friendly?

Yes, for well behaved dogs that will be kept under control outside as we have horses, and our own dogs and also kept off cabins furniture inside.  We do ask that you chat to us first and request if you would like to bring a dog with you.

What do i need to bring?

  • Food and drink – make sure you bring all the food and drink you need for your stay.

  • Warm clothes – it can be very chilly in the mornings and at night. A warm jersey and long pants are a must.

  • Slippers and a rain jacket (especially in Winter)

  • Shower toiletries 

  • Insect repellent and sunscreen.

Are there any safety considerations?

The cabin is set on a property with farm-related activity, so for the safety of all concerned, it’s very important to follow the safety guidelines below..

  • Visitors stay at their own risk, the property has hazards both farm-related (ie. machinery and animals).

  • Leave gates as you find them.

  • Animals are unpredictable – best to avoid them.

  • Extreme caution driving in and out of the property – the speed limit on the property is 15km p/h.

  • For your own safety please do not touch any farm machinery, and do not enter any buildings on the property.

Events & Parties

This is a private cabin for 2 people only to enjoy. Visitors are welcome by request. Dogs will also be considered by special request as well.
