Matakana

Matakana has endless attractions, gorgeous beaches and some of the best food and wine in the country. Most people say that a weekend is simply not enough to enjoy them all but below are a few of our favourites, feel free to ask us for further info or click on their respective links.

Explore nearby the very beautiful Buckleton Beach, an easy 6 minute walk, either for a swim, walk along the beach, boating or picnic. Buckleton Beach is one of the rare beaches in the area that offer all tide boat launching. With a beautiful sandy beach and pontoon for swimming, the quiet bay is fringed with Pohutukawa and delivers a relaxed old-school Kiwi feel. Free from streetlights, shops and bustling traffic, there are so few places this close to Auckland where you can still completely switch off.
